A Conclusion

We had Enrichment meeting last night and I brought home some of the extra cake. This morning--the moment I looked at Ethan I knew that he had snitched some of the cake. Here is how our conversation went:

Me: Good morning. Did you see what was on the stove?
Ethan: (with a little grin) yes.
Me: I thought so.
Ethan: Mom--it is called a conclusion.
Me: Huh? What are you talking about?
Ethan: It is called a conclusion. It's when you look at the evidence and then figure out what happened.
Me: I see.

Notice how neither of us mentioned the word cake? It is almost a given that if anything sweet is left within reach (and that includes what he can reach from standing on the counter), Ethan will find it and snitch some while I am in the shower.

It's hard to be mad at kids when they are so darn smart!
Indoor soccer sounds way more up my ally than cruddy outdoor soccer in the fall cold and rain. Can't wait to see you!
