Smiling.

This morning I was reading our Ward Newsletter during breakfast. I was reading the article written by our Primary presidency and was just smiling over the synopsis of the primary program. I was depressed that we missed it because Tim and I were in Florida so I was just looking for any glimpse of my kids in the overview. They highlighted four parts that were written by the kids after family discussions. Both Wyatt and Mallory were part of the group of kids that did that and BOTH of their parts were highlighted in the article. Wyatt's class had to answer the question: "What is your favorite story about Christ and Why?" He said 'I love the story when Jesus calms the sea. It shows that He is the Son of God and He saved other people's lives." Mallory's class answered the question "How should you feast upon the scriptures?" Her reply was "It means that you read about four pages, think about it and don't forget it!" Now for her we left out the extra stuff she kept saying like taking a potty break and having a fiesta but she came up with it all. It was wonderful to see that their answers made such an impression on the presidency whether it was for cute Sunbeamness or thoughtfulness or whatever. It made me smile.

As for the other boys: Ethan sang a solo (One verse of 'Praise to the Man' the rest of the song was with all of the Sr. Primary boys)for the program and we heard from a couple of people that he did a great job. The presidency wrote that the song caused goose-bumps as they imagined all of these boys as future missionaries. Missing his last Primary Program was kind of hard for me. Tim reminded me that we will see him get up in Sacrament meeting a lot more often in the youth program than we did in Primary. True-we will. As for Zach--he was supposed to sing 'Praise to the Man' with the older boys but apparently he got sick. The Saturday afternoon before the program he started throwing up (poor Grandma had to deal with that).

So, I was sad to miss it but glad that it went well and that our kids (who were healthy) did a good job. And today it made me smile to read about it.
