This past week has been Spring Break. We tried to do one "special" event every day. The boys have said that this has been the best spring break ever--I consider that a successful week! Here is a break down of our fun.
Sunday--Hawaiian Day. The weather was beautiful at the beginning of the week. We celebrated the sunshine on Sunday by dressing the boys in their Hawaiian shirts for church. After church we took a walk in the park and Tim took some pictures of the mountains surrounding our home.
Monday--Zoo Day. I mentioned earlier that we took a trip to the zoo on Monday. That was a lot of fun. The zoo here is smaller than our old zoo. But, you are a lot closer to the animals, which is pretty cool. We got to see the newest addition to the zoo--a baby giraffe (there is a picture of the kids in front of the baby and its mom). There was also a baby orangutan--which we almost missed seeing until Zach reminded us that we needed to see the Great Apes in addition to the monkeys. (I always forget that there is a distinction there!)
Tuesday--Dino Day. By Tuesday morning the weather had started changing. Because of the weather, we decided that an indoor activity would be good. We took a trip to the Dino Museum(I forgot my camera for that one). We spent the whole time in the sand room uncovering dino bones. I love having a membership to this place because the boys are always excited to go even though we have been there quite a few times. We made this trip special by buying ice cream and cookies at the Expedition Cafe. (Yes--it was cold and close to snowing and we ate ice cream. We were trying to pretend that spring was really here.)
Wednesday--Wii Day. This may have been the most exciting day of the week. We packed up our Wii and took it up to my sister-in-laws house. They have a big screen TV and the boys have been anxious to try the Wii on it. We spent the afternoon and evening playing Dance Dance Revolution, Tiger Woods Golf, and various other Wii Play and Wii Sports games.
Thursday--Movie Day. The weather was lame again so we had a movie party. We made a treat and put in Stuart Little 2 (Wyatt got this for his birthday last May and it was still in its plastic). One of Ethan's friends, Brayden, came and watched the movie with the boys.
Friday--Store Day. I was only fours months late but I finally made an appointment for Zach's six year old pictures. After his pictures were done we wandered around Walmart and picked up a few things. The kids usually hate going to the store. But, not this time. Zach and Wyatt picked out a new set of Star Wars Galactic Heroes (Yoda and Kashyyyk Trooper) and Ethan picked out a set of Basketball Cards to add to his collection.
Saturday--Play Day. We took a walk around the park today because it was warm. But, we came back home after one trip around the path because the wind was out of control. The boys have spent lots of time building a Lego town for Yoda. Apparently they have named the town "Highway Yoda".
Ethan got his over the door basketball hoop put back up after losing it for a week and he has been playing his ongoing basketball series ever since. (Well, his game is on a time out right now while Mallory and Wyatt are sleeping but I am sure it will pick up again as soon as they wake up.)
It has been a fun week. And now it is almost time to return to "real life" again. Happy spring everyone.

What a fun vacation! There must be something about the Wii and big TVs, my boys keep begging us to get a bigger one just for Wii!
Sounds like fun! I miss the Mountains, that's a great photo!
Love the picture of the boys in their Hawaiin shirts! And Mallory is as cute as can be sitting with her 3 big brothers. You have such a beautiful family, Tiffini. Miss you :)
I love that dino museum! We'll have to go together when we get back.

What a fun week. I love how you themed each day, how clever!
Wow, your photo collage looks great! Thanks so much for teaching me how to do this. You have a darling family!
A theme for each day...I love it!
Now you know how to be a "joyful mother of children" What great memories you are creating I think I will try that when summer comes - themes- what a great idea!
Oooohhh, you are giving me some good ideas here, Tiffini. Keep it up!
