Finally Four!!

Monday May 19th was Wyatt's birthday. He spent the morning sick and then perked up after a nap. He ate dinner and still seemed to be doing well so we called "next neighbor Grandma and Grandpa" (that is what Wyatt calls them) to come for present opening. By the time they got here Wyatt had started getting a little lethargic. He opened up his gifts with some help and then promptly threw up. Luckily, we anticipated this possibility and were ready with a bowl. Last night we were confident enough in his recovery to have cake. He wanted a Star Wars Cake so I (with my mom's help--she and my dad are here visiting) made a light saber cake. He loved it!

Four Things About Wyatt:

1. Smilie Wylie has been his nickname since he was a baby. That describes him quite well. He is easy going and happy.
2. Wyatt hates buttons and zippers. He hates wearing "button shirts" and anything with zippers. That made winter quite challenging because his coat has a zipper. He did tell us that he would start liking buttons again when he turned four. We shall see!
3. Wyatt LOVES Star Wars (he has never actually seen more than bits and pieces of the movies). He likes to play Lego Star Wars and is pretty good at it. He can tell you the names of most of the characters.
4. He is our weapon boy. If it is a light saber, sword, or gun...he wants it. It is odd to see him without some type of weapon nearby. I never intended on having toy weapons in my house until he came along. Everything--toy tools, legos, etc--was turned into a weapon and I finally gave up.
OK Wyatt wants me to play a level of Lego Star Wars with him so I will add pictures of him and his cake later.

Your comment about Wyatt's love of weapons made me think about some psychology I learned in Negotiations class - people can be either "warriors" or "healers." Neither is better than the other; they're just different archetypes in personality that people gravitate towards. Wyatt appears to be a warrior!
