Rendezvous

Zachary went on a really fun field trip called rendezvous and I got to go with him. Each year they set up this field trip experience at one of the middle schools. The 4th graders from all over the school district meet at the middle school and spend the day going to different stations. The stations all have to do with Idaho history. We got to see and hear a real cannon, learn about Native Americans, go inside a teepee, and hear about the Lewis and Clark exhibition. I got to do some axe throwing (only adults got to do that one) and Zach got to throw an atlatl. Months before Rendezvous each school chose a product to make--headbands, necklaces, magnets, etc. The products had to be related to Idaho history. All of the different projects were then sold at a trading post. The kids had earned "money" in class as they prepared for the field trip. It was a really fun day. I can't wait to go again in a couple of years.
