Mallory Janae Cluff

Born: August 8th, 2007 at 5:10 PM
Weighs: 7 lbs, 8 oz
Length: 19 inches

Unfortunately you'll just have to take my word that we do have a baby, as while I was alert enough to grab our camera before leaving late last night, I forgot to grab the cords to download the pictures. I promise to get something up tonight!

Thanks to the virtue of modern drugs, we had a very peaceful delivery yesterday. Tiff woke up about 5 AM due to the anticipation of the day, and I was up shortly thereafter. We went out to breakfast together, then headed over to the hospital, where we got the penthouse suite on the corner with a panoramic view. We spent most the day reading and napping, to the amazement of the hospital staff

They started pitocin, got some regular contractions going quickly, then gave the epidural and broke Tiff's water around 11 AM. Things were unchanged at 1 PM from when we come arrived in the morning, but things moved pretty quick from there. It took about 20 minutes of pushing to get Mallory here, and Tiffini was no worse for the wear.

Once she arrived, she just wanted to suck on anything and everything we could give her, and she was very awake and alert for the first several hours, until her brothers wore her out with their affections. She is the smallest of our babies, a good sign she may be our petite little girl and not turn into a Wyatt sized tank. She has very little hair, but it is darker like Ethan's was. We couldn't really place her look, although after a while I started to see more of Zach in her than the other boys. Tiff's mom pulled out her baby book when we got back last night, and she does look very similar to Tiff as a baby, but these things have a way of changing the first few weeks/months.

We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers on our behalf. We feel so blessed to have such a beautiful, healthy daughter, as well as to have such a supportive group of family and friends.
