The Rocket's Red Glare

Thanksgiving Point's 4th of the July family night activity was making and launching paper rockets, which the boys were unsurprisingly very excited about. When we arrived it quickly became apparent that everyone else was excited about it as well, because it felt like all of Utah county was crammed into the patio area. After fighting through the crowd and making it to the table, the adults in the party were able to help the kids assemble their rockets.

The boys were excited to show off their creations.

After a wait in line that would make Disneyland proud, we finally made it up to the launcher, which blasted the rockets into space while unfortunately blasting many rockets to pieces. For the rockets that survived, the kids were able to race down the hill and retrieve them and start the process again.

Note Cody showing the way to the remains of his rocket - RIP. Our boys held onto their rockets for weeks and were distraught at any thought of recycling them. The girls, while enjoying the rockets, were considerably more interested in modeling the latest in face painting fashion.
