Fun on the Farm-August 2, 2008

We wanted to make sure that we hit Farm Country before the kids started school up again. We went first thing this morning in hopes of missing all of the Saturday crowds. Since it wasn't crowded we got an extra long wagon ride too! Wyatt started out very nervous of the animals--pretty normal reaction for him. Once we bought some corn to feed the animals he relaxed a bit and by the time we hit the Duck Pond he was having a great time. Zach took delight in pointing out the peacocks and telling us that peacocks are male and they have colorful feathers to attract a mate. He loves to read books about animals and I am continually surprised by all of the interesting things he remembers. They have a couple of cool little playhouses designed like an old western town for the kids to play in. Ethan, Zach and Wyatt had fun pretending to be caught in the jail. After we finished up at Farm Country we headed over to the Children's Discovery Gardens to cool off in the Noah's Ark Pool. The animals on the Ark all squirt water out at different times. Ethan made sure to get soaked by the elephant again and again. Zach, Wyatt and Mallory were content to wade in the water and kept a safe distance from the water spewing animals.
