Surprise Visitors

Well, they were not exactly a surprise. We knew they were coming, we just didn't expect to see them as much as we did. My sister Staci told me over a month ago that they were coming up for a wedding but that they would be pretty busy with wedding stuff. She and her husband were running away for a little anniversary getaway while they were here too. In an effort to spend some time with our nieces and nephew we volunteered to have them spend the night Friday night. Thursday morning my sister called and asked if it would be okay if they came for Thursday and Thursday night too. Their previous plans for the kids weren't going to work out. So, I got my wonderful nieces(Keeli, Sophie and Abbi) and nephew(Keenan) for an extra day and night!

They were great sports about getting dragged to Mallory's one year old pictures. They all loved being around Mallory and were telling Staci that they wanted a baby at their house when she came back on Saturday. (Not going to happen--sorry kiddos.) We went out to the park several times and tried to rotate bikes so that everyone had turns--we only have one "bigger" bike.

Friday night Tim's Law Firm had their yearly party at Boondocks--a huge fun center. So, we ended up bring two cars to fit our eight kids!! It was a lot of fun. The kids all loved the Go Karts and the Bumper Boats. We split up after dinner and Keeli, Keenan and Sophie played Laser Tag while we took the other five kids miniature golfing. The firm was holding a golf tournament. I am not taking Zach and Wyatt miniature golfing again for a few years. They got bored after 9 holes and started playing in the water features and standing in the way. I think I may have gotten a somewhat decent score if my ball didn't keep hitting kids shoes. But, Tim handled the extra obstacles better than me and tied for first place in the tournament. He won a gift card to TGI Friday's so now we get to run away for a quiet dinner--when he has a break from school and work. We figured that the kids would be picked up on Saturday but when Staci and Alex got back they said that they had two tickets to the BYU football game. Alex and Keenan left for the game and we got to keep Staci and the girls for the rest of the day. Then, Sunday afternoon they all came back over for dinner. It was great to have the kids here. I spoiled them with treats after lunch and dinner while they were here so that they will always want to come and visit us. (We have to compete with Grandma and Grandpa who live in Springville for time with them when they come up!) What we thought would be a night of fun turned into a whole weekend!
