The kids here have a 5 day weekend called "Fall Break". The weather was perfect for the entire time and I knew that we needed to enjoy every possible moment outside.
Thursday-- Thanksgiving Point Gardens

We love the Gardens. In May we decided to expand our Thanksgiving Point membership to include all of the Thanksgiving Point venues. I wasn't sure how much the boys would like the Gardens but I knew I would enjoy taking walks there.

My goodness...the boys love the Gardens. I think it is because it is OK to walk on the grass and roll down the hills.

Our favorite place is the "Secret Garden". It is beautiful and has a fountain that the boys can cover up the water spouts and squirt water everywhere. I had to use some pretty good threats to keep them from getting too drenched since it was only a little over 70 degrees outside. We also love the waterfall.

They have a path that runs all along the top of the falls with lots of little overlooks. Ethan thinks it is funny to scare Wyatt by either saying he is going to jump in or that he is going to throw Wyatt in. Aaahhh, the joys of older brothers.
Friday-- Farm Country Barnyard Boo
Again, another Thanksgiving Point venue. We usually come here and spend the first 10 minutes trying to pry Wyatt off of my leg. He gets quite nervous around animals. In his defense he is getting better. (I actually got him to go on the pony ride when I took him a couple of weeks ago.) Today though, we didn't even look at the animals. Oh wait, they did pet some bunnies. It only took Wyatt about 15 minutes to get up the courage to touch them.
They had turned Farm Country into a Halloween Carnival. The boys got balloon animals, played Trick-or-Treat Croquet, Pumpkin Bowling, throw the football in the Jack-o-Lantern, decorated Halloween bags, frosted pumpkin cookies (and ate them), and went on a horse drawn wagon ride. I didn't realize they were having this event until we got there so I didn't bring the camera.

Thanksgiving Point has sure expanded since I've been there!
I can't believe how big your kids are getting!
What beautiful gardens! Glad you're enjoying Fall break, I sure wish we had that!
Hi Tiffini. I just found your blog. We have a pass to Thanksgiving Point and love to go to the gardens too, but I don't think we have seen the "secret garden". At least I don't remember seeing where that picture was taken. Where is it?
Sorry, I just realized that with my last post you probably won't know who i actually am.... Julie Varga
It is so beautiful there! Why would you ever want to come home... well, except to be close to all of us who miss you!
