He's Reading!!!

I felt like Wyatt needed a special post about his recently acquired reading skills. A couple of weeks ago at our local library I was visiting with a mom of one of Wyatt's classmates. She introduced me to a set of early reader books. There are twelve sets of books with six books in each set. They have been fabulous. They started out with simple words and sentences where Wyatt could sound out every word. Going through a whole set of books without needing any help really boosted his confidence. He has sped through the books and is now on the seventh set. Each book introduces new words and reading concepts. It has been so fun to work with him. Ethan and Zach were always 'in the head' readers. I never got to witness how the learning process worked. It has been so fascinating to have Wyatt sound out a word, blend the sounds together and realize that he read a word he recognized. He has been trying to read every word he sees and has started spelling out random words to me.
