Cascade

On Wednesday morning we headed up to Cascade, our favorite mountain getaway. We stayed at the Ashley Inn and had a great time. Aunt Lisa, Uncle Jake and kids came up too. We swam for a couple of hours every day. Well, everyone but Darcy. Tim and I took shifts with Darcy. One of us would stay in the room and let her sleep while the other swam with everyone else. When she woke up we would bring her down to the pool--but she didn't swim.
We watched several movies with lots of treats. And on Thursday we headed over to the golf course to sled. Darcy was so tired that she fell asleep on our way over. She slept horribly while we were up there so Tim and I each took a turn staying in the car with her. Poor girl misses all of the fun. I was surprised that all of my boys were willing to sled without coercion. Todd created a little jump at the bottom of the hill and all of the boys tried the jump. Jake was good enough to take Mallory down the hill a couple of times while Tim was in the car with Darcy and I was snapping pictures. We went back to the hotel afterward and warmed up by swimming. We headed home on Friday afternoon(after swimming) and the weather was gorgeous. It was close to 70 when we pulled into the driveway. The kids started begging us to take them to the park. So we unpacked the essentials and threw together a picnic dinner to take to the park. We had a great week but were all ready for a good nights sleep Friday night.
