WALKING!

I was making dinner today when Ethan and Zach called downstairs that Darcy was walking. They kept telling me about it for the rest of the day but it was a busy day so I didn't think much more about it. After everyone was ready for bed they asked if we could get Darcy to walk again. This was the result.

I was shocked and thrilled. She is over 15 months old. When I took her to her 15 month appointment last week the doctor said that we would give her until 18 months. If she wasn't walking and talking by then, we would look into physical therapy for the walking and hearing tests for the talking. Now we can cross off the idea of physical therapy (yay!) and focus on trying to get her to talk. The interesting thing is that we just had her into the doctor who manages her club foot brace on Monday. We adjusted her brace in by 10 degrees because it seemed that she was a little bit over-corrected. Less than a week later she takes her first steps. I don't have a clue if adjusting the brace is the reason she finally walked but it certainly is an interesting coincidence.
