Can't be true.

Do you ever have something happen in your life that just doesn't seem like it could really be happening? The night before Thanksgiving, Tim's mom ended up in the hospital with some serious vertigo. They did a CAT scan, gave her some medicine, and told her to follow up with her family doctor. The doctor said that there was something on the scan but it was probably no big deal. But, just to be safe he sent her for an MRI. Then, referred the MRI to a neurosurgeon--just to be safe. About a month ago the neurosurgeons office called and wanted to set up an appointment. Never a good thing when a specialist wants to see you. Well, we found out 'officially' yesterday that she has a very small, slow growing tumor pushing on her brain. And, they want to do surgery. The doctor didn't seem to be concerned about rushing her in or anything and sounded confident that it would be a simple surgery with a short recovery period. Still, it is a very surreal thing to think that someone very dear to us needs to have brain surgery.

wow! That would definitely be surreal. My uncle had brain surgery years ago, but I was kinda young and not "in the loop" so much. I hope things go well and it is, like the doctors say, simple & not too serious.
