We were lucky enough to have Grandma come up this weekend.
It was a weekend packed with fun things for Grandma, grand-kids and parents! She got in on Thursday night, which happened to be our 12th anniversary. She stayed with our kids while we ran away overnight. We got to go to the temple, go out to Big Jud's (a famous burger place here), take a 4 mile walk along the Boise River and enjoy being together. We had a great time and the kids got some of Grandma's famous pancakes for dinner. Everyone was happy. Grandma also got to see Ethan and Brianna in the school play. On Saturday the Bernhardt girls had dance recitals. I went with them to the afternoon show and dreamed of my little girls dancing in the near future. On Sunday Lisa and Jake took a quick trip to Portland and Grandma stayed with their kids. I took Grandma to the airport Monday morning and then took over kid duty for the day. Our house was a little bit crazy (good crazy) after school with 10 kids running around. Tim took the Bernhardt kids back to their house to put them to bed and Lisa and Jake got home late Monday night. It was a very fun weekend but I am certainly glad that life doesn't move at that pace all of the time. At one point Grandma had Darcy, Mallory and Erich all trying to sit on her lap. Mallory got off and came over to me with a scowl on her face. She said that Grandma was HER Grandma, not Erich's. She doesn't like to share Grandma's with anyone.
