Yearbook Cover Entry

Zach wanted to enter the yearbook cover contest again this year (he was a finalist for the back cover last year). We talked through some different options (drawing, painting etc) and somehow photography came up. He has gotten very excited about taking pictures this past year and got a digital camera for Christmas. He asked his teacher if that was okay and got the requirements from the person in charge of the yearbook. Last week I took him over to his Primary teachers' house to take some pictures of their horses. We then gave him a quick tour of photoshop and let him loose. This is what he came up with: I took it up to the school because I wanted to make sure they knew that it was his original photograph and that he did all of the work. I was tickled pink by the reaction of the office staff and Principal. Our principal said that if for some crazy reason he didn't win that she wanted to frame the picture for her office. Last year his cousins, Brianna and Lacey, put together a mosaic of a horse using little squares of construction paper. It was really cool and won the front cover. We are hoping to make it two years in a row for the family. :)
